Sakiori / Man's Coat
Japan, 19th century
Technique: Saki-ori (split-woven) or rag weaving, cotton
Comment: The use of two distinct colors is most unusual and very effective in this coat

Condition: It has definitely been worn. There is a replacement collar which could be removed and it is visibly worn on the blue fabric trim in the front. There is a patch of blue cotton at the bottom in the back.
Dimensions: 47 1/4" wide x 50" long ( 1.2 x 1.27 m )
